Cougars Vanquish Phantoms
SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa.- Lehigh Carbon Community College displayed a dominant performance in their recent men's basketball game against Delaware County Community College, winning with a final score of 96-72.
From the start, the Cougars showcased their offensive prowess, establishing a comfortable lead of 50-29 at halftime. They continued their strong performance in the second half, outscoring the Phantoms 46-43.
Lehigh Carbon's AJ Rouse (Orlando, FL/Deltona HS) had an outstanding game, contributing 20 points and impressively shooting 7 of 10 from the field. A'quele Adderley (Jersey City, NJ/William Allen HS) also stood out with 22 points, shooting 7 of 9 and making crucial contributions to the team's success. Joshua Shepherd (Brooklyn, NY/A-Tech HS) led the team in scoring with 34 points, shooting 11 of 18 from the field, including a remarkable 7 of 9 from three-point range.
On defense, the Cougars managed to limit Delaware County's scoring opportunities, resulting in a field goal percentage of just 0%. Lehigh Carbon, on the other hand, showcased their offensive efficiency, shooting an impressive 63.5% from the field. They were particularly dominant from beyond the arc, connecting on 10 of their 16 three-point attempts, equivalent to a 62.5% success rate. The team also showcased their prowess from the free-throw line, shooting 20 of 23, leading to an 87% success rate.
