HAZLETON, Pa.- Lehigh Carbon Community College defeated Penn State Hazleton with a dominating score of 9-1 Tuesday night.
The Cougars came out strong in the first half, scoring five goals, with Morrys Molero, Isaac Frey, and Cael Heaney all contributing to the scoreboard. Penn State Hazleton managed to score one goal in the first half, thanks to Mac Kline.
In the second half, Lehigh Carbon continued to showcase their offensive prowess, adding four more goals to their tally. First Year player Heaney had a standout performance, scoring a total of three goals and assisting on two others. John Nakata and Ebrima Bah also scored for the Cougars in the second half.
Lehigh Carbon's defense was solid throughout the game, limiting Penn State Hazleton to just one goal. Goalkeeper Sean Bower made one save in the match. On the other hand, Penn State Hazleton's goalkeeper Xavier Mallo faced a barrage of shots, making a total of seven saves.
Overall, Lehigh Carbon outshot Penn State Hazleton 28 to 10 and had more corner kicks and fewer fouls.
Lehigh Carbon improves to 1-0 overall.
