SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa.- On Saturday Lehigh Carbon Softball recognized it's three sophomores Gabby Robb (Tamaqua, PA/Tamaqua), Olivia Stofflet (Kutztown, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) and Sandra Ramirez (Allentown, PA/William Allen).
In Game one of the doubleheader the Cougars defeated the Bulldogs, with a final score of 14-1. Lehigh Carbon's offense was led by Mya Frana (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall), who had a strong performance with 2 hits and 3 runs. Robb and Avery Lane (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) also contributed to the team's success with multiple hits and RBIs.
On the pitching side, Mia Snyder (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) had a standout performance for the Cougars, allowing only 1 run and striking out 8 batters in 5 innings of work.
In the second game Lehigh Carbon came out on top with a dominant 16-6 win. The Cougar's offense was led by Gabby Robb (Tamaqua, PA/Tamaqua), who had a home run and five RBIs, and Kayla Winter (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown), who also had a home run and four RBIs. Mya Frana (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) had a strong performance as well, with four runs scored and an RBI.
In the circle, Lehigh Carbon's Mia Snyder (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) had a solid outing, allowing six runs on 11 hits with two strikeouts over 4.2 innings.
Bergen falls to 2-10 in the region and 4-16 overall.
Lehigh Carbon improves to 6-6 in the region and 6-14 overall.
Up next the Cougars travel to Rowan College South Jersey Cumberland for a noon doubleheader on Sunday, April 28th.
